Terms of Service

Last updated: May 23, 2026

1. Acceptance of Terms

By downloading or using LinkWard ("the App"), you agree to these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree, do not use the App.

2. Description of Service

LinkWard is a mobile application that uses AI to analyze URLs and email text for phishing risk indicators. The App returns a risk rating and plain-English explanation to help you make informed decisions about suspicious content.

3. No Warranty on Analysis Results

LinkWard's analysis is AI-generated and provided as-is, without warranty of any kind. Specifically:

You use LinkWard at your own risk. You remain solely responsible for your decisions based on its output. Do not rely on LinkWard as your only line of defense against phishing. Use it alongside other security practices (strong passwords, 2FA, skepticism about unsolicited messages).

4. Acceptable Use

You agree not to use LinkWard to:

5. Subscriptions, Scan Packs, and Billing

LinkWard offers an optional paid subscription ("LinkWard Pro") and optional one-time scan packs.

Billing and renewal: Purchases are billed to your Apple App Store or Google Play account at confirmation. An auto-renewable subscription renews automatically at the then-current price unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your account is charged for renewal within 24 hours prior to the end of the period.

Managing and cancelling: You can manage or cancel your subscription, and turn off auto-renewal, in your App Store or Google Play account settings at any time. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period; you retain Pro access until then.

Refunds: Purchases are handled by Apple or Google. Refunds, where available, are governed by the applicable app store's policies and by law. We do not separately process payments and cannot issue store refunds directly.

6. Data and Privacy

Content you submit for analysis (URLs and email text) is transmitted to the Claude API operated by Anthropic, PBC for processing. By submitting content, you consent to this transmission. If you Sign in with Apple or make a purchase, we process the limited account and purchase-status information described in our Privacy Policy. See our Privacy Policy for full details, including our use of RevenueCat for subscription management.

You represent that you have the right to submit any content you analyze, for example, that you are not submitting private communications belonging to someone else without their consent.

7. Intellectual Property

LinkWard and its source code are owned by the developer. Nothing in these Terms grants you a license to the App's code, design, or branding beyond the right to use the App as intended.

8. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, the developer of LinkWard shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of or inability to use the App, including but not limited to losses resulting from reliance on inaccurate analysis results.

9. Governing Law & Dispute Resolution

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules.

Binding arbitration. Any dispute, claim, or controversy arising out of or relating to these Terms or the App that cannot be resolved informally will be settled by binding individual arbitration administered by the American Arbitration Association (AAA) under its Consumer Arbitration Rules, rather than in court, except that either party may bring an individual claim in small-claims court. The arbitration will be conducted in San Francisco County, California or, at your election, by telephone or video, or based only on written submissions.

Class-action waiver. You and the developer agree that each may bring claims against the other only in an individual capacity, and not as a plaintiff or class member in any purported class, collective, or representative proceeding. The arbitrator may not consolidate more than one person's claims or preside over any form of a representative or class proceeding.

If any portion of this Section 9 is found unenforceable, the remainder will remain in effect, except that if the class-action waiver is found unenforceable, this entire Section 9 will be null and void.

10. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top. Continued use of LinkWard after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms.
